RECONSTRUCTION TIMELINE
RECONSTRUCTION TIMELINE
As a small one woman business, the process and reconstruction timeline of Tokyo Kaleidoscope is unique and works in blocks.
Depending when you place your order, measurements taken/given, non refundable deposits paid - your bespoke reconstruction will fall into one of these timelines to be completed.
FIRST TIMELINE - end of April
SECOND TIMELINE - end of June
THIRD TIMELINE - end of October
FOURTH TIMELINE - mid December
If you require your piece/s to be finished by a certain date - ie March 18th - please do include such information in the inquiry email. The more information the better, for example if the piece is required by March 18th for a wedding but you live overseas, enough time must be given for reconstruction AND shipping timeframes.
Depending on the waitlist status, a rush fee may be charged. A rush fee will also be charged if for whatever reason - you suddenly need to expedite your order (ie. you suddenly have to leave the country for work and wish to have your piece sooner rather than have it shipped overseas. ) Timelines, waitlist status, whether a rush order is feasible - will be discussed with you via email/IG DM or in your fittings.
For July & August, the studio is closed for the entirety of the two months, to let one’s self heal, rest, get inspired. So if you wish something to be finished to be worn in those months - it must fall into the FIRST or SECOND TIMELINE or even the year earlier.
JAN 2025: CURRENT BESPOKE ORDER WAITLIST STATUS
2025 ORDERS FULLY BOOKED!!
please consider making an appointment sooner rather than later for bespoke pieces to finish reconstruction in 2026.
Depending on how many kimonos are reserved in each appointment, the reconstruction timeline can drastically change in mere moments. For example - say on the first appointment of January - if one person reserves 2 - 3 kimonos, then the next reserves another 1 - 2, and the last person reserves 2- 4 kimonos; 2025 will be fully booked.
Many are reserving far ahead of time whilst many returning clients may place new orders as soon as they pick up their finished piece/or at a fitting, to ensure placement in the reconstruction timeline, so it is advised to please consider making an appointment sooner rather than later.
THANK YOU!
Thank you to all of our numerous returning clients who have multiple TK bespoke pieces, to all those who spread word by personal recommendation of our little kimono reconstruction world; to the new faces who found and fell in love with what I do - your stories, meeting you all have been a constant source of inspiration.
Thank you for supporting a small, female owned, one woman business like myself. I sincerely doubt, I will ever look to expand and become a global fashion powerhouse that mass produces, or even training other individuals in the unique way I reconstruct the kimonos to create pieces that utilise as much as the kimono as possible - so thank you for all your patience as well.
